Role Purpose
The Director of Project Management leads, develops, and elevates Zone 4’s Project Managers to ensure consistent, predictable, high-quality project execution across all mechanical, electrical, and structure projects. This role is responsible for building PM capability, coaching individuals at all levels, standardizing delivery practices, supporting project managers in driving customer success, and ensuring that project teams have the leadership backing needed to execute work safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Core Responsibilities
PM Development & Coaching (Primary Focus)
- Lead ongoing coaching, mentoring, and skills development for all Project Managers
- Establish individualized development plans with clear career progression
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and continuous feedback loops
- Create and run a Project Management Community of Practice (CoP)
- Develop training programs, playbooks, and best-practice standards
- Identify skill gaps and create structured upskilling initiatives
- Support PMs through high-risk decisions, conflict resolution, and stakeholder alignment
- Serve as a role model of structured planning, communication, and leadership
Project Delivery Leadership
- Oversee project forecasts, schedules, budgets, and execution plans
- Support PMs in leading cross-functional coordination across engineering, procurement, and field installation

- Drive PM adherence to Zone 4 safety, quality, and operational standards

- Enforce project management standards, templates, and procedures
- Implement consistent reporting, including dashboards, KPIs, and field alignment routines
- Lead quarterly/annual project planning and prioritization
- Partner with procurement to ensure material availability and cost control
- Drive continuous improvement across all PM processes
Authority & Decision-Making
- Leads the PM organization and sets performance standards
- Makes talent decisions including hiring, promotion, and performance improvement
- Approves project management processes and delivery standards
- Escalates portfolio, client, or operational risks to senior leadership

Required Experience
- 10+ years of project or program management experience within construction, automation, industrial installation, or related environments
- 5+ years managing and developing Project Managers or comparable leadership experience
- Proven track record improving PM capability and maturing project delivery standards
- Experience managing complex mechanical/electrical/automation installation projects

The Electrical & Mechanical Estimator plays a critical role in supporting the company’s growth, profitability, and operational excellence by developing accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates for electrical and mechanical scopes of work. This position ensures that proposals reflect a complete understanding of project specifications, industry standards, labor requirements, material pricing, and risk considerations.
Acting as a key liaison between sales and operations, the role ensures each estimate aligns with company objectives, client expectations, and compliance requirements while maintaining high levels of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail.
Ultimately, the Electrical & Mechanical Estimator supports the business by contributing to successful bid outcomes, strengthening client partnerships, and enabling the delivery of safe, efficient, and profitable projects.
Scope of Responsibility
- Review opportunities (RFQ’s) and specify Zone 4’s services to meet customer requirements
- Consult with the sales and suppliers to understand general cost driving components and arrive at the most cost-effective solution for our customers. Keeping in consideration and driving towards desired profit margins
- Review and interpret data, specifications/drawings from customer inquiries and prepare bid packages in a timely manner
- Prepare detailed material takeoffs (MTO) for equipment, labor, subcontractors, and related costs.
- Develop cost models, labor hour calculations, and unit pricing based on industry standards and internal benchmarks.
- Ensure all estimates reflect accurate material pricing, labor rates, overhead, and margin expectations.
- Lead the preparation of competitive bids, RFQs, and RFP responses.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to solicit, review, and compare quotations.
- Identify clarifications, exclusions, assumptions, and risk factors within the bid package.
- Support the creation of proposal narratives, scope summaries, and pricing sheets.
